5 possible problems with your TWS earbuds and tips to fix them

When picking up earbuds essentially to listen to a song or watch a video, there are probably many who have faced the experience of having to untangle them first. But just as smartphones have changed, earphones have also changed. Wired earbuds have become Bluetooth earbuds, neck bands, and now TWS earbuds.

True Wireless Stereo Earbuds (TWS Earbuds) are preferred by many people today. TWS earbuds have become the most popular form of wireless earphones. All major smartphone brands are now launching their earbuds for their smartphones.

Apart from this, many leading brands are launching TWS earbuds in the market. More than just an earphone, these TWS earbuds come with many features like noise cancellation, wind noise algorithm, ultra-low latency game mode, and more.

Although very comfortable and easy to use, these earbuds also have some issues. Some defects may be due to age. But others may be due to some minor technical glitches. Some of these are things we can fix ourselves. Let's take a look at some of the common issues with TWS earbuds and how to fix them.

Unable to pair: Unable to connect (unable to pair) between the earbuds and the smartphone is a common problem. There can be many reasons for not pairing like this. Most phones and wireless earphones can only connect to one device at a time. So, the first thing to do is to make sure that the phone and earbuds are not paired with another device.

Also, make sure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on. These are the best solutions for this problem. Some smartphones automatically disable Bluetooth pairing mode when not in use to reduce power consumption. Bluetooth needs to be re-enabled to pair with a new device.

Another way to solve this problem is to pair and unpair the earbuds with another smartphone. If the buds can't pair with a secondary smartphone, there might be a problem with the earbuds. These issues can be caused by reasons ranging from incompatible Bluetooth versions for your phone to operating system issues.

Cut audio and listen: Bluetooth connection has limited range and bandwidth. If the sound is intermittent when the earbuds are on, make sure the earbuds are close enough to the phone. Most earbuds (TWS) have a range of about 10 meters, so make sure the phone and earbuds are within that range.

Earbuds not charging: It is normal for earbuds that are more than two years old to have some problems due to wear and tear. Not getting charged is one such problem. A Qi-certified charger can be used if charging is not possible due to a port problem. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions in the charging port and that the charging pin is properly connected to the port.

Hear audio in only one bud: This problem is usually seen with budget-priced TWS earbuds. One earbud connects to the phone and acts as a bridge to the other earbud. Only one earbud hears sound when it cannot connect to the other earbud.

Unpairing the earbuds can fix this problem. Follow the instructions in the TWS manual to unpair the earbuds and re-pair the smartphone. Take both earbuds out of the case and put them back at the same time or long-press the button on the charging side.

Battery drains quickly: Earbuds often run out of charge faster than you think. If the earbud is very old, it is normal and there is nothing special to do. But if you are facing such battery drain problems in relatively new earbuds, you can do some things.

An option to keep the battery charged longer is to disable the active noise cancellation. This may result in a significant improvement in battery life. If there are special modes like gaming mode, try disabling them too. These also consume a lot of battery compared to normal mode.
